Unknowingly, half of 2017 has already passed. It has been five years since I first came into contact with BlackBerry. Looking back, I have many emotions. Those BlackBerry BBers who used to play with me are now few and far between.
From its heyday to its decline, from a proud hardware company to a software company, I have witnessed every change. Over the years, one mobile phone manufacturer after another has fallen, one after another has risen. From physical keyboards to touch screens, from small screens to large screens, the people around me have changed their phones and brands one by one. But for me, the one thing that has remained unchanged is that there is always a BlackBerry by my side.
It all started in high school when I first got my hands on the BlackBerry Bold 9000. I was deeply captivated. I loved its unique appearance, the keyboard with a sense of design, and the unparalleled feel. Once I fell into the "trap" of BlackBerry, I never climbed out. I then experienced the Bold 9900, Q10, and now the main device, Priv. BlackBerry has brought me many surprises, but also many troubles. For example, the pain of using BB10 as the main system - the software couldn't keep up, and the device would overheat. For example, being misunderstood by others, and being surrounded by people who couldn't understand. But I persisted. Those unforgettable days, browsing forums, reading posts, and exchanging ideas with old BlackBerry friends, are still vivid in my mind.
Five years is neither short nor long. I have gradually come to understand what I like about BlackBerry, from being a simple user. If someone uses BlackBerry just to show off, then we are not the same kind of people. Although it does have its own style, what's more important is that I love its purity, simplicity, and thoughtfulness. Perhaps there is also an indescribable sentimentality inside, once you use it, you don't want to leave. What does purity and simplicity mean? No complicated functions, no unnecessary options. What does thoughtfulness mean? Inheriting classic designs and surprising people with every new product.
I haven't been in the BlackBerry community for a long time, but I have met many BlackBerry friends. I have gradually transformed from a bystander to an active participant, designing wallpapers, promotional materials, and sharing my own experiences of using BlackBerry. A previous Weibo post about BlackBerry unexpectedly received six to seven thousand reads. Maybe it's because I have helped many BlackBerry friends over the years, and many of them are willing to let me experience or debug their devices, and some even directly give me their devices. Although I don't have the money to buy so many BlackBerrys, I have experienced almost all models, thanks to BlackBerry friends from all over the country. To be honest, the BlackBerry friends I have met are mostly very sincere and friendly. After saying so much, let's get to the point.
